Our first-ever bottling of Cabernet Sauvignon from St. Helena comes from a small, acclaimed family-owned vineyard planted on the southwestern edge of the St. Helena AVA. The resulting wine shows a great personality worth bottling on its own, with a distinctly different fruit and tannin profile from our other Cabernet Sauvignons.

VINEYARD

THE VINEYARD: Among the very warm, rocky terrain of St. Helena AVA, the historic Pollard Vineyard has been supplying fruit to iconic wines in the valley for generations. We are fortunate to work with this site, in one of the warmest AVAs in Napa, and pair the resulting fruit with our meticulous winemaking expertise.

THE VINTAGE: The 2023 vintage of Napa Valley was exceptional, with one of the longest growing seasons in a decade or more. Its consistent, mild weather and abundance of sunshine allowed grapes to ripen slowly and develop maximum flavor concentration while maintaining great acidity. These ideal conditions led to a vintage with freshness, purity, and elegance.

TASTING NOTES

Aromas: Opens with herbal and floral notes followed by classic varietal aromatics of cassis, dark red fruit, mulberry, fresh fig, and crushed blueberry, all complemented by hints of spicy oak, cedar, and semi-sweet chocolate
Flavors: Deeply layered dark fruit accentuated with black pepper, spiced plum, bay leaf, and nutmeg notes
Body: Bold, juicy, and lively, with tannins that are muscular but well integrated and a flavorful, spicy finish with great length
