TASTING NOTES
Aromas: Spiced plum, blackberry, and blueberry complemented by spicy oak, flint, and a subtle floral note.
Flavors: All four varieties shine on the palate, with red, black, and blue berries layered with spiced plum, violet, licorice, and a hint of sweet pepper.
Body: A serious wine. Very juicy, vibrant, and beautifully integrated all the way through the palate, with a structure that is framed but rounded, an earthy character, and very fine-grained tannins. The fruit carries all the way through, lingering on the finish.
COMPOSITION

VINEYARD
THE VINEYARD: The fruit for this wine comes entirely from our legendary To Kalon Vineyard, which is located on prime benchland in the Oakville District appellation. The well-drained, low-fertility soils and optimal sun exposure enable the development of rich, complex flavors, impeccable phenolic maturity, and beautiful varietal character.
THE VINTAGE: The 2023 vintage was exceptional in Napa Valley, with one of the longest growing seasons in a decade or more. Its consistently mild weather throughout the season with an abundance of sunshine allowed grapes to ripen slowly and develop maximum flavor concentration while maintaining great acidity, leading to a vintage with freshness, purity, and elegance. Grapes were harvested from October 9 through October 12 and spent 20 days on the skins. The wine was aged for 19 months in 85% new French oak.
